CleanPowerSF Green ShieldWhat’s the easiest way you can receive cleaner, more renewable energy? Sit back and relax.

In May 2016, PG&E began automatically delivering CleanPowerSF’s Green product -- cleaner energy at competitive rates -- to San Francisco energy customers. Your electric rates will remain affordable when you become a CleanPowerSF Green customer. Best of all, there’s no need to enroll.

Competitive Price + Same Service, Just Cleaner Energy

Once you are automatically enrolled as a CleanPowerSF Green customer, the only thing that changes is that you’ll receive cleaner energy at competitive rates. PG&E continues to deliver your electricity, maintain the power grid and respond to outages. PG&E also continues to send your monthly bill (with CleanPowerSF charges replacing certain PG&E charges). If you receive a low-income discount on your electricity bill, that discount continues. For precise rate information, please visit our rates page.

How Green is GREEN?

CleanPowerSF’s Green product contains 40% renewable energy that meets California’s strict Renewable Portfolio Standards. Our Green product is cleaner than PG&E’s current energy supply (which is about 29.5% renewable*). The renewable component of CleanPowerSF Green energy will come primarily from local wind and solar facilities in the Bay Area.

The Power of Choice
While CleanPowerSF makes it easy to reduce your carbon footprint through automatic enrollment, the choice is yours. If you don’t want cleaner energy for a competitive price, delivered by your current energy provider, you can opt out at any time.

Change begins with you. Automatic enrollment in CleanPowerSF’s Green product occurs in phases across San Francisco. If you don’t want to wait for CleanPowerSF to get to your part of the City, you can sign-up for early enrollment today!
